Tape residue to spine, extending to boards, also to corners. Cloth splitting at joints (though binding remains quite serviceable, structurally), significant edgewear, ink name to front endpaper, internally clean and unmarked, binding sound, a trifle smoky. Entirely in (Western) Cree save for imprints. Two volumes bound in one, with The Old Testament followed by The New Testament; The New Testament with a separate title page. The second reprint of the 1908 and 1904 editions of the Old and New Testaments, respectively. Peel 3194: "In 1898 a committee was formed, under Robert Machray, to revise the Cree Bible. Eventually John Alexander Mackay became responsible for the final form of the work, using drafts by others. Mackay used a Yost typewriter fitted with the Cree syllabic symbols to prepare his revised copy". Scarce in any edition. Handwritten (study?) pages of syllabics, laid in. .
