Description: Winnipeg, MB, Tribune Publishing Company, 1902. 1st edition. Leather Bound. pp. xxxi, 151. Royal 8vo. Bound in full 'pebbled' maroon leather with gilt embellishments. Spine sunned with some loss at tail, closed tear across spine , some scuffing to edges, binding a bit "sprung", occasional spotting; good. Comprising 'A Gallery of Men, whose Energy, Ability, Enterprise and Public Spirit have produced the Marvellous Record of the Prairie Province.' With 76 leaves of portraits, four to a page, with brief identification of the subjects, but no other biographical information. Obviously, a 'vanity' publication whose subjects most likely paid to have their names and photos inserted (other than civic leaders and members of the provincial legislature). See Peel (3d) 2653. This is the 'Edition de Luxe'. Peel does not mention any other edition. With an Introduction, an 'Historical and Commercial Review of Winnipeg and Manitoba', and a complete list of 'portraits'. Ill.: black-and-white photographs.
