Title: The Poetical Works of Sir Walter Scott, Bart. : Complete in One Volume, with All His Introductions and Notes, Also, Various Readings, and the Editor's Notes, Elegantly Illustrated
Description: Boston & New York, undated, Crosby & Ainsworth/Oliver S. Felt. Edition Unstated. Hardcover, 8vo - 9¾" tall. Book, Well bound, with minor general wear and aging, ornate gilt decorated spine is bright, embossed cloth faces, bound in dark brown, a little fray and tiny chipping to spine tips, some rubbing to boards at corners and edges, but still sound and presentable. Internally, text clean. A small few signature folds have not been opened or cut all the way at the fore-edges, so a letter opener may come in handy. A few pages have been opened just a bit roughly at the same edge area. Prev. owner inscription from Christmas 1987 puts a date range on the publication; also noted by a previous bookseller "Belonged to California Pioneer Thos, Flint," and the prev. owner name in pencil to front endpaper does look like the signature of Thomas Flint. This edtion has some very nice engraved plates with tissue guards in it. The front hinge is mildly shaken, but sturdy. Good/No Jacket.
