Period style half calf with marbled sides. 300mm x 200mm (12" x 8"). 376pp + index + 4 advertisement pages + rear Peroratio leaf. Frontispiece, engraved plate and full page engravings and woodcuts in the text. Contents comprise- 'The preface to the Ingenious and Courteous Readers' by the author followed by several laudatory poems prefacing the text and a commendatory note by William Lilly described as Student in Astrology. The first part of the text is concerned with Chiromancy. The Second Part or Second Book: 'Wherein is Treated of Physiogomy, Metroposcopy, Oneirocracy with many secrets thereunto belonging' was published in 1670 by Nathaniel Brooks. The Third book is described as 'The Physiognomie of Dreams'. The final section is 'A Treatise of the Moles of the Body of Man & Woman' also published in 1670.. VG : in very good condition. Frontispiece and title supplied in very good facsimile on period paper. Neat repairs to two preliminary leaves .
