Brown hardback half-leather cover. 270mm x 220mm (11" x 9"). 499pp; 515pp. 16 b/w engravings plus fold-out map (torn - no loss). Plus other b/w illustrations within text. The history of the county is followed by statistics (populations, trade and resources) and a description of each ward, parish and ownship. This latter section is enlivened by short biographical notices of persons distinguished by 'habits of eccentricity' or 'intellectual and moral excellence'.. G: in good condition. Rubbed and scuffed covers with some blemishes. Some wear to spine vol 2. 1 and 1/2" split at front hinge with 1" repaired tear near spine heel. Title labels chipped. Cracks in inner hinges. Sporadic light foxing sometimes impinging on plates. Some rubbing and bumping to corners .
