The Appendix is entitled ' A Narrative of Facts, Demonstrating the Actual Existence and True Cause of that Physical Confederacy, in Bath, made Known to the Public in the Printed Letters of Dr. Lucas and Dr. Oliver.' Published by A. Millar in 1757. [Second Edition]. It is said that the King of Prussia, at an early interview with Baylies, remarked to him that "to have acquired such skill he must have killed a great many people", to which the doctor replied, "Pas tant que votre Majeste (Not as many as Your Majesty)".. Worn condition. Cover rubbed and scuffed. Title panel missing. Hinges cracked and weak. Browning to prelims. Slight foxing, but content in overall good condition.
