Description: [7], [1 blank] pp.First and only edition of a proclamation by the province of Zeeland noting that certain people were buying up grain in large quantities to artificially inflate the price, so that they could sell it back at a large profit or export it, to the detriment of the local population. It explicitly refers to it as a "monopolie" causing famine and poverty. The provincial government therefore proclaimed temporary restrictions: grain is to be sold only at the weekly public markets, except in a few specified special circumstances. Bulk purchasers can buy the unsold grain only after a specified time, and they are prohibited from exporting it out of the province without consent. Printed by Richard Schilders (ca. 1538-1634!), one of the most prolific printers of his day.In fine condition and wholly untrimmed.
