William Golder (1810-76) is credited with being the author of the first volume of poetry printed and published in New Zealand, and the first amateur printer who was not a missionary. This is his third work. An artisan poet he wanted to contribute to the process of constructing a national identity through contributing to laying the foundations for a national literature. CONDITION Blue pebble cloth, pp [10] 170 pages. Copy is very bright and crisp with one hand correct by the author to preface, name to front paste down, strip cut away from top of ffep, partial split to rear gutter though mull tight. Very rare copy in excellent condition. Very Good/No Jacket.
