Contemp. quarter morocco, marbled boards. Internal neat repair to joint in 3 vols., some light foxing or browning, a very good set otherwise. - The first edition of this wellknown dictionary of the "arts et métiers" appeared in Paris in two volumes in 1766, the second edition was enlarged with many additions by Abbé Pierre Jaubert (c.1715-1780) and appeared in 4 volumes in 1774. The last and largest edition published is the present one. The 5th volume has its own title reading "Vocabulaire technique, ou dictionnaire raisonné de tous les termes usités dans les arts et métiers [...] Nouvelle édition".
