Though it lacks such formal and precise treatment of titles and imprints as we are accustomed to today, the Bibliotheca botanica is tremendously impressive in its erudition, its analyses of contents of important volumes, [and] its biographical notes" (Hunt). Alas we only can offer the above first volume, of the two, but it is complete in itself and covers the botanical literature from the earliest times up to the end of the 17th century.
