Hinges with some outside age wear but still firm, some rubbing to cover edges and spine, little very local light foxing or browning to contents, generally a very good copy. - Original edition, very rare, of this fundamental work on the rotation of polarized light, a major contribution to optics, the author's preferred field of research and in which he did his most important work.
