Almost unknown Dutch translation Extremly rare first and only Dutch edition of Bourrit's 'Description des glacières, glaciers et amas de glace du Duché de Savoye'. Important as being one of the first records in the Dutch language describing the travel towards Chamonix and the descriptions of several excursions in the Mont-Blanc area. The work includes the voyage of M. De Luc 'Na de Ys-bedding van Büet' ' and Bourrits famous 'Beschrijving der Vertooningen van den Berg Blanc' (Description du Mont-Blanc). The 3 views represents 'Chamonix, Montanvert & Bossons all engraved by C. Bogerts in 1777. Bourrit's publications were leading the way to the more scientific investigations towards the glaciers and glaciology as a science, they also were the starting point of alpine tourism.
