Called "art paper" produced by a special method adopted by the Printing Bureau of the (Japanese) Ministry of Finance. Art designs of scenic beauty, historical figures etc., are not only preserved in their minuteness but reproduced in a most beautiful manner. The paper is made of Mitsumata shade plant, ... which is used for Japanese currency as a primary raw material. Themes of these unique watermarks are: Kudara Kannon; Suiren (Water lily); Yu-Fuji (Mount Fuji in the evening twilight); Sansui (Landscape); Tsubo (A jar); Yofune (A boat in the evening).
