With volume 3, published in 2015, the authors completed their complete work on modern Austrian pistols. With this monumental three-volume, with a total of over 1,800 pages and almost 4,000 illustrations in excellent quality, the authors duo have created a reference work that is unique in specialist weapons literature. Volume 1 describes in detail the transition from repeating to self-loading pistols that took place from 1891 onwards and appropriately acknowledges Austria's role in the development of the modern automatic pistol. Extensive chapters of around 150 pages each are dedicated to the major historical pistol systems MANNLICHER, ROTH and STEYR. Volume 2 looks at the new developments of the First World War that paved the way to the submachine gun. In the section devoted to the period after 1945, the almost 100-page chapter on GLOCK pistols is the only publication on the subject that was officially supported and approved by Gaston GLOCK. It is the authentic GLOCK story! Volume 3 rounds off the subject with a presentation of the submachine guns developed or used in Austria, a section on pistol holsters and additions to the first two volumes. - - Text in German.
