This is copy nr. 499 of the 500 trade copies. - Robert Southey (1774-1843), British poet and historian, friend of Willem Bilderdijk and his wife, they entered September - October 1815 to Waterloo in Belgium. In October 1815 they went to Maastricht. The travelogue gives a good picture of the Flemish / Dutch countryside in 1815, with an emphasis on table manners, old bookshops, nature and cities.
