Various small photos depicting the missionaries and local fatyhers of the little brothers of John the Baptist. In the spring of 1928 the first group of postulants began to construct the original nucleus of the Monastery of the Beatitudes in the western suburb of Anguo (Ankwo), on land donated by a benefactor from Beijing. Depicted on this set of photographs are: Bishop Odoric Simon Cheng Hede, Père Lebbe, Ramond de Jaegher, André Boland and Paul Gilson. Some of the photographs depict Chinese local life such as architecture; monuments and processions.
