Lemmens. - - Cornelis de Bie (1627- after 1711) was a notary in his native town of Lier who made his mark in history or more precisely in art history, with his Gulden Cabinet, a series of biographies and panegyrics on artists. His subjects are most South Netherlandish painters, sculptors and architects of the 17th and late 16th centuries.
