This collection contains 44 of 80 plates that were published by Schierbeek. The series were invented in Berlin by Carl Wilke and later introduced and translated by Dutch teacher Berend Brugsma (1797 - 1868). All plates have charming scenes of 19th century daily-life such as teachers, nurses, crafts, sports (wrestling and fencing), horseriding. Captions are added below the depictions. See: Boerma,N. a.o.
