(The 1594 edition was again an extensive revision of the very first edition of 1570). In this important work, Joannes Molanus (1533-1585), professor of Theology and Rector of the Louvain University and a important Contra-Reformation theologian, deals with the correct content of religious images, based on the decrees laid down in the Council of Trent (1563).
