The characters in this dramatic poem include: a Scientist who seeks the truth, a Mystic who sees only sham, a Misanthrope who is disgusted with the world and a Young Girl who's life is ruled by Love. Throughout the volume, the threat of Armageddon hangs over the entire work. The author, a leading authority on Shelley, taught at the University of Chicago and finally at the University of New Mexico.
