Bound in publisher's full green cloth, gilt lettering and floral decoration on spines and covers, rear covers blind-stamped with the same lettering and decoration as the front covers, but not in gilt, t.e.g. Illustrated with two tissue-protected full-page color frontispieces in addition to numerous color in-text vignettes introduced as head-pieces, tail-pieces, and in the margins; all of the illustrations are chromolithographs, bright and clean. The Art Nouveau cover design is by Sarah Wyman Whitman, one of the most important book designers of the 19th Century. Spines and bottom edges lightly sunned, small loss at the head of the spine of Volume 2 only, else near fine; unmarked (aside from some old brief bookseller's markings on the endpapers), tight, square, and clean. VERY GOOD. Color Illustrations. 12mo 7" - 7½" tall. (x), 173; (x), 208 pp. Very Good with no dust jacket .
