The author was Reverend Father Nicolas Du Sault (1600-1655), a French Jesuit priest who taught humanities, philosophy and moral theology, then was appointed Superior of the Colleges of Saintes (1641-1644) and Limoges (1647-1650).. This volume was published at Rome in Italian by Nicolo Angelo Tinassi (1622-1699) in 1666. Title in English: "Direction to seek God through the natural and supernatural ways, where the soul is imperceptibly disposed to the highest functions of the spiritual life. Written in French by Fr. Nicolas du Sault of the Company of Jesus and translated into Italian by Gabriele Bisciola." Ribbon marker laid in. Large hole in spine, front board partially detached at spine, former owners' names and monastic library markings on ffep, and title page (dated 1719), otherwise unmarked; text block tight and square.
