Description: Boston: Dana Estes & Company, c. 1902. Reprint. Later Printing. Leather. Biographical and Critical Miscellanies (1 Vol.), and The Life of William H. Prescott (1 Vol.) by George Ticknor. No date, circa 1902. All are bound in half red leather with marbled boards and endpapers, 5 gilt-decorated raised bands on spine, 4 compartments on spine with a flower embossed in black and gilt, 2 compartments have gilt lettering, t.e.g, fore-edge and bottom edge deckle. Each volume has a different engraved frontispiece and several b&w photographs. Spines of books are darkened in varying degrees with a couple being almost black, one volume has a 2" chip on the marbled cover, the cover on one volume is holding on by a few threads though most of the hinges are nicely intact, almost all of the volumes show some wear to the spine ends and/or leather on the covers. There are no bookplates or ownership markings of any kind, and, based on the tightness of the hinges and the many uncut pages, few of these volumes have been read. VERY GOOD-. B&W engravings and photographs. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Good+ with No dust jacket as issued .
