Title: The King's Henchman. A Play in Three Acts
Description: New York, Harper & Brothers, 1927. First Edition. Hardcover. Black cloth-backed blue boards in dustwrapper. This copy of Millay's play in verse is INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on the front endpaper: "For/James B and Lisa Mason/From/Edna St. Vincent Millay/February 26, 1927." While the Limited Signed editions are plentiful on the market, signed first trade editions are quite scarce. From the estate of actor/poet Rod McKuen with a small card presenting the book to him from his literary agent, Helen Wetmore Brann, who opened her own agency in 1974 becoming the first woman to open a literary agency of her own. Near Fine in a Very Good dustwrapper cleanly split along the spine front edge and chipping at the spine tips. Small stain on front of dustwrapper. Looks good in mylar .
