This Walden edition, an early but not first printing, is based on the Riverside edition of 1893 and printed from the same plates as the Manuscript Edition. It was first published in six volumes without the JOURNALS which were added later. This set has the first four of the fourteen volumes of the JOURNALS and all of Thoreau's published work. Large, personal bookplate on each front pastedown; minor spots of rubbing. Near Fine and attractive on the shelf .
