INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on an inserted leaf with a quote from the work in the author's hand: "Not one throb of anguish,/Not one tear of the oppressed/Is forgotten by the Man of Sorrows/The Lord of Glory. In his/patient generous bosom he bears/the anguish of the World./Uncle Tom's Cabin/Chap 12 pg 146/Harriet Beecher Stowe/Septr 6th 1895." Exceptionally rare to find a quote in Stowe's hand from the book, let alone such a fine example. Text toned otherwise about Fine .
