Title: The Georgics
Description: Verona, Limited Editions Club, 1952. Hardcover. Small quarto (8-1/2" x 12") bound with a green Italian buckram spine with the title stamped in gold leaf and sides covered with a hand-made and hand-printed brown-and-green Varese paper; 168 pages. Translated into English verse by John Dryden with an introduction by George F. Whicher. Designed by Giovanni Mardersteig and printed at the Officina Bodoni. Illustrated with wood engravings by Bruno Bramanti, the prints pulled directly from the blocks. Of a total of 1500 copies SIGNED by the artist and the designer on the colophon page, this copy is not numbered (in place of the number is written in ink "Office Copy") and bears the Club's blindstamp stating it is one of 15 presentation copies. Ill.: Bruno Bramanti. Spine a touch sunned. Near Fine in a Very Good slipcase. A lovely book .
