It purports to be a biography of the eponymous character. Its style is marked by digression, double entendre, and graphic devices.Scarce.The quality of the book is good, but it does not have engravings and the one illustration in the front by Darley of "Uncle Toby" is not high quality. The cover page says the book is "beutifully illustrated" but it is not. Cover has some spotting and tears to top of spine, coloration is strong.; Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 525 pages. Very Good with no dust jacket .
