With neat Latin gift inscrition dated 1938 to George Arthur Fressanges on blank page before half title. *Theodoret was a leading theologian who played a pivotal role in early Byzantine church controversies. Also included are further works on the early church by Scholasticus Evagrius, Philostorgius and Theodore Lector, with dissertations by Lucas Holstenius. Valesius (Henri de Valois 1603-1676) edited them using original source materials and codices.
