Description: London, Thos. De La Rue & Co. 1884 according to British Library Colour illustrations (6 full page) + 18 toned or sepia illustrations by R.D. Dudley . Small quarto pictorial card covers (upper hinge corner creased & 4cm by 2cm a bit damaged/small lower cover corner crease] 24pp Two leaves with partly colored illustrations and the spine cloth is probably newer, otherwise only the first and last leaves have some slight pale foxing. The story shows how a short tempered King is given his come-uppance by a Japanese magician. The artist is best known for the handsome book of lithographs THE ATLANTIC CABLE as he was working for the Illustrated London News which sent him on the Great Eastern during its cable laying journey. This title is a fairly scarce book printed by the banknote printing firm of De La Rue.
