After her marriage she & her husband emigrated to America where they started a school in Philadelphia. Although her books were soon reprinted in America the first editions, especially those set in England, were still first brought out in England. The "ornaments" of this title are good manners and a "well-regulated mind". The first edition is quite rare and the book went on to become one of her most popular titles running into many editions and continuely in print to late Victorian times (Osborne Collection 267 Darton H770(1)).
