Dissolving Views. A Book of Revolving Pictures with Verses.

Dutton, Square 8vo., pp.(16), glazed pictorial boards backed in red cloth, b/w pictorial title, b/w frontispiece, 6 revolving colour plates, b/w illustrations to text; gutter visible between frontispiece and text, and again between final plate and text leaf, toning and light surface soil/fingermarking to margins, with some tiny creases to corners and slight loss to corner of one text leaf, a couple of chips to edges of paper, all plates in fine working order, although there is a crease to the revolving section of the first plate, rubbing and light wear to paper at extremities of boards, front board bright, a near-very good copy, in remains of dust-jacket, which has extensive tear and creasing to rear panel, with loss to edges, partial loss to spine, and wear to extremities of front panel, with areas of loss at inner corners (at upper corner, loss of apx.6 x 6cm triangle; at lower corner, loss of apx. 3 x 3cms). A very scarce volume.

Great Exhibition - the Grand Panorama of the Great Exhibition of All Nations, 1851.
London: Illustrated London News, 1851. Wood-engraved panorama, uncoloured, mounted on linen, presenting parallel views of both sides of the exhibition hall, with accompanying text precis below, 11 joined sheets forming panorama measuring c.280 x 6700 mm (or 11 x 263 in), rolled, with blue cloth flap lettered in gilt, which is backed with coloured charts showing varying footfall at the Exhibition; cloth is mottled with dampstaining, gilt dulled, diagram to reverse of cloth flap has splits to the paper, and bears small, neat ink ownership inscription (dated 1852), the first section of the panorama has closed tears to edges of the paper, with some staining to the linen, as well as ownership inscription to linen backing, the scarce panorama is otherwise in excellent condition.
