A sheet of cream stock, 11-3/4 inches high by 18-1/2 inches wide, has been folded to form 4 sides, the 4th side being blank. The pages are somewhat darkened & lightly soiled with some staining & light foxing & the 2 leaves are detached. The program has been folded horizontally 3 times & is extremely fragile with tears to the margins at the folds. Fair.

Most of the program is devoted to listing the various city, village and county officers, police, fire companies and military personnel who are to take part in a procession led by the Grand Marshal H. B. Duryea. This is to be followed in the evening by a fireworks display and the illumination of city buildings with various delegations reporting to City Hall and the County Court Rooms.

Pages [73]-146 plus 32 black- and-white plates depicting 245 earthenware articles. The hinges are reinforced with linen tape, which is partially detached at either end. The title page is lacking. There is offsetting & some small stains to the Contents page. The top corners of the last 3 plates are creased with a tiny chip out of one of them. The last 2 leaves are lightly creased with a tiny chip out of each. Ex-library with a label on the spine, a library pocket on the inside front wrap & a library stamp at the foot of the Contents page. The wrappers have been laminated. Good working copy. Good .

The top right corners of the pages are creased. There is creasing & a tear to the left edge of the last page. Good. "The year, 1964, had a very special meaning for the County of The Bronx. It was a year that celebrated its birthday with a year-long Golden Jubilee [1914-1964] to expose its residents and to the nation at large the many facets of living, working and playing in The Bronx and the progress made in the last five decades." This first paragraph of the text is preceded by the lyrics of the official song of the jubilee by Herb Miller. The text was compiled with the assistance of an unnamed civic organization and was issued by the Office of the President of the Borough of The Bronx, the Honorable Joseph F. Clipped to the booklet is a typed letter signed, sending it to Lieutenant William M. Clearwater with the original mailing envelope: "Dear William: I send you a copy of the proceedings relative to the Celebration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the incorporation of Kingston as a City, not because I delivered an address, but for that you may find some of the historical data worth preservation for future reference.." The letter is typed on a sheet of Clearwater's personalized letterhead and is dated "August 31st, 1922" . Very good .

Some Notes About the Coffee House: A Private Club.
New York: The Coffee House, 1949. 1949. - Octavo, softcover bound in pictorial folding yellowish tan wraps illustrated in black by John Held, Jr. with a picture of 2 gentlemen entering The Coffee House on the front wrap and a vignette of a coffee-drinker on the rear wrap. The corners of the covers are very slightly bumped. [28] pages. Illustrated with a full-page facsimile. Very good. These notes on The Coffee House, which was founded in December 1915, consist mainly of a list of members with their addresses. Also included are a brief history and the rules of the club,"Rule Six being that there shall be No Rules". This copy belonged to William M. Clearwater who is included in the list of members. Laid in is a note addressed to him in New York City from the director of Herbert Johnson, Hatters, in London, advising him that "your Bowler is ready and I will put it up on the shelf awaiting your call when you are next in London. Very good .

The contents are very good.

First edition.

Howard Crosby [1826- 1891] was an American preacher and teacher, great-grandson of Judge Joseph Crosby of Massachusetts and of General William Floyd of New York, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Crosby was professor of Greek at New York University in 1851 and in 1859 was appointed professor of Greek at Rutgers College. Two years later he was ordained pastor of the first Presbyterian Church. From 1863 until his death he was pastor of Fourth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City. Crosby took a prominent part in politics. He was a founder and the first president of the New York Society for the Prevention of Crime, and pleaded for better management of Indian affairs. In this sermon, he preaches against crime in New York City and the corruption of judges and city officials. He urges the citizens to support the Society for the Prevention of Crime. Very good .
