Peterson's Magazine was a successful rival of Godey's Lady's Book. It was a lady's American magazine, produced by American authors for American women. The magazine included topics of interest to American women, including: Fashion, Poetry, Music (with sheet music), Cooking, Literature, Sewing (with patterns), Needlework (with patterns), Crafts (with patterns), Gardening, Current Events, and much more. The volume contains hundreds of wood engravings, color plates, color fold-out fashion plates, sheet music, and steel engravings, engraved & printed by Illman Brothers.. Spine and covers mildly worn, most of the illustrations are in excellent condition but a couple have some tears, else near fine; unmarked, tight, and square. VERY GOOD. Peterson's Magazine Series.
