Bombay, Mrs L Battersby-Parks, 1935. Hardcover. Difficult to resist such a comprehensive title and indeed, the hints and tips are wide-ranging. What makes the whole project more interesting however, is that it was self produced in 1930s' Bombay offering domestic advice, presumably for the ex-pat British population. ND, but dated as 1935 by advertisement for latest Willys 77 car model, imported from the USA. The advertisements, for a broad selection of Bombay businesses and brands, are probably the most engaging element of the book, though guidance on topics such as 'sour milk - uses for' and ankle-strengthening sea baths, is always useful. Professionally produced and printed by G Claridge & Co of Bombay, and in general good order. Stock is lightly toned and there is some minor rusting from staples. Text block is detached from boards. These are decorated with printed sheets front and back and a cloth spine, all a little worn and marked. Exceptionally scarce, with no copies listed in world libraries. 8vo.
