Sir C (Charles) H J Anderson
The Lincoln Pocket Guide, Being a Short Account of the Churches and the Antiquities of the County and of the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln, commonly called the Minster
Edward Stanford, London, 1880. 2nd Edition, Hardcover. Fair/No Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. This is the second, and fairly scarce, edition of Anderson's Lincoln guide, the first was published in 1874, enlarged to this edition and subsequently republished in 1892 which is much more commonly found. This copy, although with damaged binding, unusually still has the fold-out map attached to the reverse of the half-title page and, with the signature of C H J Anderson on the front end-paper, would appear to be the author's personal copy. The dark red covers are present and but the front cover together with the front end-paper and map are detached, the lower third of the spine is missing. The map is darkened and there is a tear adjacent to the hinge but is complete. The pages are clean with occasional light freckles. No dust jacket, as published. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: under 1 kg. Signed by Author. Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request. Inventory No: 50117111095. ISBN: 0710060378
