Edges and corners rubbed and bumped. Marbled endpapers. Armorial bookplate engraved by "A. S. Leslie", to the verso of the front board: "D. G. Bruce-Gardyne". Clean throughout with all illustrations. VG ** "David Greenhill Bruce-Gardyne, Barrister. Born 4 Aug, 1834. The forth son of William Bruce-Gardyne, 6th of Middleton and Catherine Cameron Macpherson. He married 29 May, 1883, Azemia Helen, eldest daughter of Thomas Sellar, Esq, of Hall Grove, Surrey.

[ Paris : Charavay, 1883 ] . 0. A beautiful little Almanack . 14cm x 10cm x 1.9cm. pp.128. White silk covered boards (now soiled) , with blue decorations and red title: "1883 Etrennes Aux Dames". A frontispiece portrait of Madame Edmond Adam etched by Boulard fils. Clean text throughout, within a pink floral border. Some pages uncut. Contained in an off-white wrap round card case. All covers with embossed pattern an gilt decorations and title. Hinges carefully strengthened. A well preserved little book.

Previous owner's signature to half-title, together with ink stamp: "Rene Mayer Bibliotheque, Bucarest". Light foxing to half title, otherwise clean French text and illustrations throughout, with just the odd light spot or small blemish. VG.
