A large folding map of central England and Wales, to aid with planning cycling and motoring routes. With all main roads specifically coloured. Produced by Bacon's Maps, founded by George Washington Bacon, an American mapmaker and publisher who developed a successful business producing maps of London. In the original paper wraps. Externally, smart with light wear to the extremities. Minor sunning to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Loss to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. The map is very bright with the odd spot and light tide marks. A tear, or loss, to part of the map from pest damage resulting in a 6" closed tear to the fold of this section of map. The loss only covers part of the Irish Sea so no roads or routes are lost. Good Only . Ill.: Not Stated. Good Only .

An illustrated work in a half morocco binding with marbled end papers. All edges gilt. An atlas containing five-hundred maps and diagrams in colour, including double-page reference maps and diagrams of the world's commerce, and a gazetteer of 105,000 names. With colour diagrams of flags across the world. This atlas is undated. However, it must have been published between 1912, as Arizona and New Mexico are shown as states, and 1918, as it shows Austria-Hungary before its dissolution. Collated, complete. In a half morocco binding. Externally, smart. Lightly rubbed to the spine and extremities. Small sections of damp staining to the rear board, with a little shelf wear to the extremities of the boards. Hinges have been reinforced with binder's tape. Internally, firmly bound. Edinburgh, William Whyte, 1850. Leather. A very scarce coloured atlas, with important statistical information, comprising of twenty-nine maps. A very scarce work. A complete atlas, illustrated with twenty-nine coloured maps. The work shows the entire world, as well as giving information on the population of towns, the height of mountains, and the length of rivers. Engraved by a J. Brown. This is possibly Joseph Brown, an English engraver who first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1833. He used both stipple and line for his engravings, and worked from paintings by artists such as John Hayter, John Opie, George Perfect Harding, and George Romney. Undated, dated from Copac from a copy held at the National Library of Scotland. Collected, complete. In the original half calf binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, with some marks and rubbing to the boards. Spine is lifting a little to the tail of the front joint. Hinges are strained. Internally, firmly bound.
