No Place, No publisher, 1928. Wraps. Printed wraps. 165 pp. A printing of the various speeches, agenda items, reports, etc. given at the annual gathering of members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Moving Picture Machine Operators of the United Stated and Canada. This was presumably a union type organization representing those working in film or stage productions. The piece reports financial items, disputes with movie studios in Los Angeles, lists the hundreds of locals that were part of the union, along with names of members, etc. Of note is a brief report of the establishment of "The Studio Zone," defining its boundaries in Los Angeles as between Fifth Street and Rossmore. This zone established rates of pay for whether work was done inside or outside the zone, with added compensation for work outside the zone. The area has gradually expanded over the years, and the tabloid television/internet journal TMZ took its name from the "Thirty Mile Zone," which refers to this zone. GOOD condition. Uneven toning, with staining and soiling to the rear cover. Owner's name and local number/location on the upper front cover. Minor edgewear. Minor toning in the interior. Good .
