[John BARKER & Co, Kensington?]
Sun-dials, ancient and modern.
London: printed by Eden Fisher & Co, N.D. [1902] 22cm. [2], 18pp, text illustrations. Original pictorial paper wraps, rusted staples removed and thread sewn. Loosely inserted is a printed sheet, with table, 'Directions for setting horizontal sun-dials ...' published by John Barker. ' A work with the same title by Edwin Barker is recorded in DISCOVER at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew; it appears to be a periodical extract rather than a complete work which we have here. Internal evidence indicates this trade catalogue was published in 1902. The pictorial front wrap is laid out with blanks to provide publication details of the seller/agent. Since this copy is blank we cannot be sure by whom it was issued; however the presence of Barker's 'directions' would suggest they were the likely retailers.

Anthony, Caro; Giovanni Carandente; Ian Barker, Caro at the Trajan Markets, Rome
Anthony, Caro; Giovanni Carandente; Ian Barker
Caro at the Trajan Markets, Rome
Woodstock, NY, Overlook Press, 1994. Hardcover. Brown cloth with silver lettering on spine, color illustrated dust jacket with white lettering, 127 pp, includes 52 full color photographs. Introductory essay by Giovanni Carandente. "Anthony Caro long nurtured an ambition to exhibit his works in an archaeological setting in Rome. The Trajan markets- the daily marketplace of ancient Rome, just behind the Roman Forum- with their ancient walls and complex spaces dating from the second century A.d. presented a fascinating, antiquated urban setting against which to juxtapose Caro's severe, abstract forms of sculpture. This, then, is a magnificent, full color commemoration of the dream that became a reality in 1992." -dust jacket. VG-/VG (small marker line on bottom block edge, light foxing to upper block edge, interior is clean) .
