Limited edition of Luck, Or Cunning? by Samuel Butler in the original publisher's quarter paper vellum binding with cloth boards. Published as part of the Shrewsbury Edition of the Works of Samuel Butler. 750 numbered sets were printed for sale, of which this is part of set number 494. Samuel Butler was a British novelist who was fascinated by Darwin's theories of evolution. Illustrated with two monochrome plates. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's quarter paper vellum binding and cloth boards. Externally, very smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There are some light marks to the front board. The front hinge is detached. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some light aging. Good . Ill.: Not stated. Good .
