Large folding hand coloured map of Scotland and another but lacks one map facing Itinerary. 8 engraved views of Edinburgh, falls of Bruar, Island of Staffa with Fingal's cave etc.. The book is complete in old half leather binding with marbled boards. The book is tight and clean but there is some rubbing of the boards and an old professional repair to the top of the backstrip. Owners signatures on the fep and front pastedown which also has a booksellers label - C.Thurnam Carlisle There is some toning and a blind tear on the first map and some splitting of the folds on the second map. Very collectable or presentable condition. See scans. . Very Good

B&W Illustrations; This is a one page advertising flier folded in half (making four pages) advertising a new Grabhorn book for 1959 - Nineteenth Century Type - which David Magee was featuring in his shop. The flier is in Very Good condition. There is some light wear to the spine ends and corners, and some light horizontal creasing to the item. There are a couple of spots of finger dirt to the covers. "In 1923 David Bickersteth Magee opened a bookshop in San Francisco, California. A successful book and manuscripts dealer, he served as president of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America, the Roxburghe Club of San Francisco, and the Book Club of California. He was also a member of the Bohemian Club and the Grolier Club. Magee was the author of several books, including Jam Tomorrow (1941) , Bibliography of the Grabhorn Press, 1915 - 1940 (1940) , Bibliography of the Grabhorn Press, 1940 - 1956 (1957) , Infinite Riches (1973) , and many articles in Bookman's Weekly. David Magee died on July 17, 1977. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy. ". Very Good .
