Including 'Crabbed Age and Youth', 'On Falling in Love' and 'English Admirals', among others. 'Poems' (1912) - Including Underwoods, ballads and songs of travel.  Uniformly bound in the publisher's full limp morocco. Externally, 'Poems' and 'Familiar Studies' are very smart, with slight rubbing to the extremities (heavier to 'Familiar Studies' and minor fading to the spine. 'Virginibus' is more heavily worn to the leather, with areas of damage most notable to the front corner and rear board. Internally, firmly bound. With a large piece of the front free endpaper chipped to 'Virginibus', as well as worming affecting pages 23-34. Pages are generally bright and clean, with scattered spots to the endpapers of 'Virginibus' and a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper of 'Familiar Studies&apos. Good . Ill.: None. Sparrow from Anthony Asquith, December 21st. 1920.", cont. vellum, decorated in gilt. Anthony Asquith was a respected English film director, he was the son of Herbert Asquith, the Prime Minister during World War I. Between 1927 and 1964 he directed 40 films, his first successful film was 'Pygmalion' (1938), his later films included 'The Winslow Boy' (1948) and 'The Browning Version' (1951). At the height of the Profumo scandal, Asquith is widely believed to have been the 'man in the mask' at an orgy attended by Stephen Ward, Christine Keeler, Mandy Rice-Davies and a host of top establishment figures.
