LINCOLNSHIRE INDENTURE OF FEOFFMENT WITH COUNTERPART.
Indenture of feoffment dated 20 January 45 Elizabeth I (1603) between (1) John Ewerdine of Skillington, Lincs, yeoman, and (2) John Pillfoote of Skillington yeoman, witnesseth that (1), in consideration of an oxgang of land meadow and pasture in the fields of Skillington, taken from the eight oxgangs of land meadow and pasture being the inheritance of (1) now in the occupation of (2), has granted bargained and sold to (2) all that plot or parcel of enclosed ground as now divided from a certain plot lying on the south side thereof being the free land of (1) the enclosed ground of Richard Williams of Denton gent and on other enclosed ground of the said (1) on the north side thereof, and on a plot of enclosed ground belonging to George Owsell of Skillington husbandman lying on the east side thereof, and the Queen's highway upon Saltby Heath lying on the west which plot of enclosed ground is commonly called Lindfeild Close lying within the fields of Kyrck Stoke, Lincolnshire, which (1) bought of Thomas Harrington of South Witham Lincs Esq. To have and to hold to (2) to the use of (2) with usual covenants. Endorsed with livery of seisin witnessed by Richard Edwards, John Baker, George Owsell, Charles Sewell. Also endorsed with memorandum for free ingress and egress over said plot.
