'Draft of a Proposed Act for Enlarging the Time for Angling for Salmon to the 1st of October', by Major Campbell.To the rear is bound eight handwritten leaves, comprising of two letters, and one note. Letter from George Dundas to Lord Murray, regarding Lord Lubnaig. In a quarter morocco binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with loss and lifting to the front board. Dampstain to the rear joint. Light marks to the boards. Pencil to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots and handling marks. A couple of pencil marks to the text. Good . Ill.: None. Good .

A volume containing two very scarce acts bound in one, both relating to the Salmon Fisheries of Scotland, and their regulation.Illustrated with a folding map. 'An Act to Regulate and Amend the Law Respecting the Salmon Fisheries of Scotland - [7th August 1862]', 25 & 26 Victoriae, cap. 97.'An Act to Amend the Law Relating to Salmon Fisheries in Scotland - [31st July 1868]', anno tricesimo primo & tricesimo secundo Victoriae Reginae. Bound with many interspersed blank leaves, on which a prior owner has made extensive ink notes. In a full straight grain morocco binding. Externally, generally smart, a little rubbed. Minor bumping to the extremities. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Spine is faded. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots and handling marks. Prior owner's ink to the blank leaves. London, George E. Eyre and William Spottiswoode, 1857. First edition. Cloth. A very scarce act passed by Queen Victoria, focusing on the preservation of salmon in the River Tweed. The first edition of this very scarce work.An 1857 act, regarding the preservation and increase of salmon in the River Tweed, and the fisheries in the River, passed on the 17th August 1857, being 20 & 21 Victoria, cap.cxlviii. The River Tweed is known as one of the greatest salmon rivers of Britain. This act was later repealed by the Scotland Act 1998. In the original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing and a few minor marks to the boards and spine. Fading to the spine and extremities. A small amount of buming to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is strained. Pencil to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few handling marks, and the occasional pencil underlining or annotation. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
