Publisher's paper covered boards with printed label on the spine. = A very rare work on angling in southern England, especially the greater London area. The plates show hooks and tackle. Little is known about the author. Uncut. Boards a bit rubbed and paper cover split at the joints, binding starting, otherwise a very good, clean copy. An interesting guide to the River Avon from Tewkesbury to above Stratford-on-Avon, with songs, ballads and descriptions of the river and its neighbourhood. Written by John Henry Garrett, during a rowing trip along the Avon. Along his journey, he stopped in the towns and villages by which the river flows, entered old houses and churches and inquired about the various interests and sights he observed. With a bookplate for one, 'Peter M. Scott', to the front paste-down. Rebound in half morocco. Externally, excellent with little shelf wear to the edges. Bookplate to the front paste-down.
