A sweeping work illustrating the best of British poets' work dedicated to the beauty of flowers, compiled by Eden Warwick. The first edition beautifully rebound in full calf with gilt detail by Riviere & Son. With decorative margins to the leaves. Including poets ranging from fourteenth century to the late eighteenth century, such as Geoffrey Chaucer, John Skelton, Sir Philip Sidney, William Shakespeare, John Milton, &c. In full calf binding by Riviere & Son, with five raised bands, gilt tooling to spine and extremities, marbled endpapers. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, lightly rubbed to joints and extremities of the boards. Gift inscription to front blank leaf. Internally, firmly bound. Previous ownership inscription obscured to title page, barely visible, and minor pencil marginal annotations to the occasional leaf.
