Founded in 1866, the Cobden Club believed in Free Trade, highlighted in their motto 'Free Trade, Peace, Goodwill Among Nations&apos. A detailed report of the proceedings of the International Free Trade Congress, which took place in London in 1908. Notably, the first speech of the first session was given by the Right. Hon Winston Churchill, in which he presents his views on the subject. Comprised of eight sessions in total, with a break for dinner incorporated after the second. With the bookplate and stamp of the Royal Statistical Society, dated 1908. Bound in the publisher's cloth. Externally, sound, with slight discolouration to cloth. Rubbing to the joints and extremities, with a tear to the front joint. Front hinge is a touch strained, but holding firm. Bookplate and stamp to front paste down and endpaper.
