Bloemaert created works in all genres except of portraits. He left many drawings and spread his compositions in copper engravings as well. Besides Rembrandt there is no artist with such a wide influence on the art of painting in the 17th century in the northern Netherlands. For the first time this important, but little-known artist is presented in an exhibtion. The catalogue shows life and work of Bloemaert with the help of many colour images.
