Dispelling the prevalent belief that French cooking is wasteful and expensive, this collection of recipes are suited for any household, providing a variety of delightful dishes with economy in mind. A collection of daily dishes, with a few more elaborate ones suitable for special occasions. Written by Xavier Marcel Boulestin, a French chef, restaurateur, and the author of cookery books that popularised French cuisine in the English-speaking world. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with light wear and chipping to the extremities. Minor sunning to the spine and panel edges with light spotting. Loss to the head of the spine and front panel, sympathetically repaired with paper to the internal side of the wrapper.
